Thiet is the home of AJO
Apukjuwiir Olympics brings the community together in Thiet Payam. The tournament’s football matches are played at Matar Playground—the playing field within Thiet, not the name of the host town.
Thiet also holds deep historical meaning for Apukjuwiir and South Sudan. Community history remembers it as a place that hosted the SPLA during the liberation struggle and as a place where many of today’s South Sudanese leaders began their education.
